Two Toned Kitchen Cabinets

two toned kitchen cabinets created from dark wood and white cabinetry

The most popular use for two-tone kitchen cabinets is creating a kitchen focal point. Whether it be the range hood, refrigerator panels or the kitchen island; using a different cabinet tone draws attention to the area.

Many use visual tactics; a darker upper cabinet will “bring the ceiling down” creating a cozier feel in your kitchen. Instead of a darker upper cabinet, many use the darker cabinet for the island, creating a kitchen focal point with the two-toned kitchen cabinets. Contrasting kitchen cabinet colors can also create the visual of a built-in hutch or furniture piece.

Another tactic is to contrast finishes as well as colors, for example, you can contrast your cabinets with stainless steel appliances. Dark brown cabinets contrast beautifully with stainless steel appliances.

Taking a different approach using emotion; adding natural wood cabinets to an all-white kitchen, creating a feeling of warmth to an otherwise cool-toned kitchen.
