A Trend Towards Customized Kitchens
“I want my kitchen to say a lot about me.”
Ricki Research recently asked 1,000 people who either rent or own their homes how much they agreed with this statement and broke the results down by generation: Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers. The results are telling, and as a society we are leaning towards customized kitchens.
The Results
Percentage of participants that replied “describes me completely” to the abovementioned statement:
- 40% Gen Z
- 37% Millennials
- 28% Gen X
- 20% Baby Boomers
What Does This Mean?
The younger consumer increasingly feels, quite strongly, that their kitchen should reflect their own personal style, which arguably makes them more likely to complete kitchen renovations to achieve that exact look. However, it’s still notable that even one out of five Baby Boomers, the oldest generation, completely agree that they want their kitchen to reflect their personalities. Overall, there’s a lot of people that want to put their own personal touch on their kitchens.
