Custom Gray Transitional Kitchen in Allentown Pennsylvania by Christine Shorr

Morris Black designer Christine Shorr embraced the Hygge design style in this custom transitional kitchen in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Hygge is a Danish concept that encompasses the feeling of quiet comfort and extreme coziness. The rich gray KraftMaid cabinetry is grounded by brick-tiled walls and highlighted by polished steel hardware.

The selection of new-age appliances includes a Miele Coffee Maker for a quick and frothy latte at your fingertips.

Dacor-Range-and-Oven

Plenty of Ovens for Baking and Roasting

This family loves to entertain, and the space allows plenty of cooking and baking with a Dacor six-burner range and a double oven. The left side of the oven is a steam oven – bake artisan bread with a light, fluffy center and a flaky crust. Steam ovens provide faster cooking with the power of pure steam.

To the left of the range is another oven, a sleek KitchenAid microwave, and a Jenn-Air Convection Oven for baking.

Notice how Christine added ample under-cabinet lighting to offset any dark corners due to the brown and gray tones of the cabinetry and walls. The result is a work surface that is light and bright.

Samsung Refrigerator in Transitional Kitchen

The Samsung refrigerator is framed with a pantry of storage, so all items are organized for a quick meal preparation.

The refrigerator is the Extra-large capacity Smart 4-Door Flex™ refrigerator with Family Hub™, it lets you see inside your refrigerator, manage your family’s calendars, stream music, see who’s at the front door, and much more, all right from your fridge. You can also change the sections in between the refrigerator or freezer, hence the name “Flex”.
