Celebrating Community & Craft: Highlights from Two Inspiring May Events

May has been an exceptional month at Morris Black Designs, filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate the artistry of kitchen and bath design. We’re delighted to share highlights from two recent events that brought together industry professionals, design enthusiasts, and the local community.

SOTA Kitchen Tour – May 3, 2025

On May 3rd, we were honored to participate in the annual house tour organized by the Allentown Art Museum’s Society of the Arts (SOTA). This much-anticipated event showcased kitchens designed by top local firms, offering the public a rare glimpse into ten of the area’s most beautiful homes.

The tour was a tremendous success, drawing design lovers from across the community. We extend our warmest thanks to the gracious homeowners who opened their doors and shared their inspiring spaces. Special recognition goes to the talented designer Christine Shorr, CKBD, whose exceptional work was proudly featured during the tour. And of course, heartfelt appreciation to the SOTA for their dedication and flawless organization.

Architects and Designers CEU Event & 1908 Modern Kitchens Launch – May 14, 2025

Our showroom buzzed with creativity and collaboration as we welcomed architects and designers from the Lehigh Valley and beyond for a special educational session. Attendees enjoyed two engaging lectures, each earning them Continuing Education Units (CEUs) accredited by both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC).

The event also marked an exciting milestone: a formal introduction of our newest custom casework line, 1908 Modern Kitchens by Morris Black Designs. Guests received a firsthand look at the craftsmanship and innovation behind Morris Black Designs and Morris Black & Sons during a guided tour of our on-site caseworking facility. The day concluded with a delicious lunch, providing time for networking and exchanging ideas.

We are grateful to all the architects and designers who joined us and made the day a resounding success. Your enthusiasm for ongoing learning and high-quality design inspires us to keep raising the bar.

Looking Ahead

These events remind us of the power of collaboration and the importance of celebrating both innovation and tradition in design. We look forward to more opportunities to connect with our community, share our passion, and continue crafting spaces that inspire.

Thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and supported these memorable occasions!
