“We knew that we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate our 100th anniversary this year,” explains Bob Black, vice president of Morris Black & Sons, Inc. “So, we took what we do best create beautiful kitchens and baths and looked at how we could use that to make a difference in people’s lives. What better way for us to honor someone who touches other’s hearts than by giving them a beautiful new kitchen, the heart of their home?” “We have been thrilled and moved by the touching stories of all those who entered the contest, from people displaying amazing courage in the face of adversity to those who give back to their community and country in the most powerful and meaningful ways,” Bob Black says. “The quality of the entries made it difficult to narrow down to three finalists.” To begin her/his Kitchen-of-a-Lifetime makeover, teams of designers from Morris Black will meet with John and Lois Morrell in their home and will develop three different designs created specifically for the special homeowner’s lifestyle and needs. Morris Black installers will handle putting in new cabinets, countertops and appliances, while other Morris Black partners will furnish the lighting, add beautiful tiling and flooring, and much more.
