Contemporary island with L-shaped overhang for casual dining

This open concept kitchen allows the chef to enjoy a view of the family room fireplace while at the Viking cooktop. The island's two levels hides the cooktop from the adjacent room, but allows guests to join the chef in conversation. Both light and dark Corian are used on the island, while the darker shade is used for both countertop and backsplash. The Heritage cabinetry is maple, stained a warm honey color, with stainless tubular pulls.

Double ovens and microwave are mounted at eye level, and the stainless steel used in the hood and appliances is repeated in the hardware and the tubular legs on the island.
