Lighter, Brighter Maple Kitchen

Before:

The homeowners wanted to reduce the division between the eat-in area and the kitchen. They wanted lighter cabinets, but couldn’t change the dark wood trim used on the windows and baseboards.

The designer removed the peninsula and added a wall oven and warming drawer. The new Maple cabinets were stained light with a dark glaze, and dark trim was added to tie the room into the existing darker woodwork. Both Corian and granite were used for countertops, and a full tile backsplash was added.
