Before:
The homeowner is a semi-retired architect who planned at 4 foot bump-out to enlarge his too-small kitchen. Four feet proved to be just enough to create this large French Country kitchen in a warm blue and creamy yellow color scheme.
A peninsula between the sink and the patio door was removed when the addition was built. The improved traffic flow allowed for the addition of a built-in table, attached to the multi-level island and providing seating for four.
The cabinetry is Heritage in a Hearthstone finish, with antique glass in the angled corner wall cabinet. The custom wood hood is trimmed in beadboard to match the island. A wall of built-in stainless steel appliances including wall ovens and a countertop depth French door refrigerator, is opposite the island. The countertops are Giallo Antico granite. The backsplash is tile, with a decorative inset over the cooktop.
