The Associated Builders and Contractors – New Jersey Chapter (ABCNJ) recently named Morris Black and Sons a Merit Winner for their work on two projects in New Jersey in 2015.
Morris Black’s Commercial Cabinetry division won the Merit Award for Construction Management $5M to $10M for the work they did on an addition to the TRUMPF Photonics building in Cranbury, NJ. They also won in the $10M and Over category for the expansion of the Chapin School campus in Princeton, NJ.
Tom Lawler, lead Project Manager for both projects, explained the projects:
The ChapinSchool is an independent co-ed school for children pre-K through 8th grade. The addition, a two-story 14,000 sq. ft. middle school addition, including classrooms, technology lab, offices, meeting rooms, and a learning commons, marks the completion of a $13.2 million multi-year building project. Morris Black’s contribution was classroom cabinets, lockers, bathroom cabinetry, story time upholstered benches, the librarian’s desk and cabinetry in the music room.
The TRUMPF Photonics addition was an expansion to add a meeting room/cafeteria, enabling TRUMPF, an international high-technology company providing manufacturing solutions in the fields of machine tools, lasers and electronics, to expand their photonics operations. Morris Black provided cabinets and countertops for the café and kitchen, enclosures for vending machines and cabinets and Corian tops for the rest rooms.
“We are proud of the recognition we received.” Tom Lawler said, “We don’t take these awards lightly. We strive to give the best service and products to each and every customer. When our customers receive these awards, I feel like I gave my all on the project.”
Congratulations to the Commercial Cabinetry division!
