Traditional Style Blue Kitchen in Bethlehem, PA
Design Information: Custom Cherry cabinetry was used in this traditional blue kitchen to match the existing doors. This 1894 Victorian brick home in Historic Bethlehem had elements of the original kitchen — plus the challenge of designing within a 200 sq. ft. space with four doorways and two extra tall windows. Using the existing doors as inspiration, designer Dan Lenner created a custom door and an efficient workspace for the homeowner without losing a door or window.

This beautiful blue kitchen includes under-cabinet and in-cabinet lighting. The subway tile backsplash keeps this kitchen looking clean and fresh while the blue walls add a pop of color. A Thermador dishwasher sits comfortably in the custom cherry cabinetry.
This kitchen is decked out in professional grade appliances including a Thermador range and range hood.
The small space and low windows meant fewer base cabinets. The designer maintained the traffic flow and arranged an efficient work triangle by creating a peninsula. Dan stepped back the cabinet next to the window to avoid blocking it, and built a seat with storage underneath under the second window. The Thermador refrigerator fits neatly between the two windows.
The light quartz countertops in “Dreamy Marfil” create a beautiful contrast against the custom Cherry cabinetry. Before remodeling, the alcove window was partially covered. The new design includes stepped back cabinetry to expose the window, and added space for appliances, rollouts and a lazy susan for extra storage space.
