Morris Black Designs partnered with The Easton Public Market to design and build a 600 square foot demonstration kitchen. Weekly demonstrations feature celebrity chefs and culinary professionals provide healthy, locally purveyed cooking. They recently brought on Chef Lee Chizmar to demonstrate how to cook his famous mushroom ramen.
Chef Lee Chizmar is originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania and known in the Food Network Industry as “Lehigh Valley MVP”. His passion for food began when he tried his first oyster at the age of three. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park in 2000, he traveled to San Francisco to work for Bradley Ogden’s Lark Creek Inn in Marin County. Here is where he grew his love for serving locally grown, seasonal ingredients. Boston is where Chizmar gained access to some of the world’s freshest oysters and sea creatures, and also where he met his wife, Erin Shea. In 2007, they opened their first restaurant together called Bolete, right here in Bethlehem, PA. Bolete combines their love for local produce and fresh seafood. Chef Lee also operates Mister Lee’s Noodles in the Eason Public Market.
There was a lot of talk in the valley, especial in the Easton Public Market, of Chef Lee’s mushroom ramen, which is why they brought him in to demonstrate. We were honored to see Chef Lee cook in a kitchen designed by Morris Black!
